Typical toppings for a local pizza joint

Why choose this small typical looking pizza joint?!

It was an early November Saturday in Las Vegas McCarran Intl. Airport, and my family and I were waiting to board a plane back to Columbus Ohio. We were all wearing our OSU Jerseys and two women came up to my family and I and asked us if we lived in Columbus. We responded that my father works there but we live in a small town 2 hours east of Columbus. One of the ladies told us that whenever we are in Columbus as a family again, please stop by their little pizza joint on the east side. We told them we definitely would and when we got back to Ohio, we forgot about the ladies we had met on the other side of the country. Fast forward to 9 months later, my entire family is looking for somewhere to eat in Columbus and my father suggested that we go to that little place that those two ladies had told us about. We all decided to give it a shot. We looked it up and when we arrived at the small brick façade building that looked no bigger than most peoples garages, we decided to give it a shot anyways. Once inside, we were treated to the dining experience of a life time. Walking in the entrance, you are greeted by the smell of what I believe heaven smells like. Two 50 year old pizza ovens are a blaze with the smell of tens of thousand pizzas that have come before us. The friendly face of one of the women that we had met in the airport. She greeted us like we were old family friends, but this was not specific to us. Every customer was greeted like an old friend, no matter if they actually were or if they were in the store for the first time. The dining room is reminiscent of an old Pizza Hut, but about a third of the size. OSU and other local team memorabilia, 5 TVs, and other Italian posters line the walls and a warm smell of years of Italian goodness fill the room as the first pitcher of Blue Moon arrives at our table. After ordering, our dinner, salads arrived at our table that were mounded high with cheese, black and green olives, hot peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, pepperoni, ham, and bacon. They have two house made dressings, Ranch and Italian that are made fresh every day that put anything that you can find in a supermarket to shame. When the pizza arrived, my family had ordered two pizzas, one a Great White, and the second a Meat Lovers. The pizza arrives on a thin crust that is about twice the thickness of a Donato’s crust but not thick enough to be a full hand tossed. The Great White was a pizza that was topped with butter, garlic, olive oil, and 3x cheese. The Meat Lovers used a basil infused pizza sauce topped with cheese, pepperoni, bacon, salami, and ham. The second and third pitcher of Blue Moon came as we crushed the pizzas that were square cut. All said and done, we left the pizza place ordering 2 pizzas, 4 salads, and 3 pitchers of blue moon, which added up to roughly $45 before tip. You will be hard pressed to find 2 pizzas of this quality for under $45. Yes, the pizza place looks like the typical, hole in the wall pizza place, but when you cross the threshold into this hidden treasure, you realize that you have been transported into the old country and are now truly sitting among friends and family that you never knew you had. 12/10 Will eat again!
